On Wednesday, September 20, the 2023 Junior Independent Work Research Forum took place–an annual event that selects five undergraduates to present their JIW to the rising juniors in the Department of Economics. The Bendheim Center for Finance is proud to share that three of the students who presented are pursuing the Certificate in Finance: Shirley Ren, Antek Hasiura, and Nicole Svensson (pictured L-R). 

Their research topics are:
Antek Hasiura ’24 – Bank Runs in Decentralized Finance: An NLP Sentiment Analysis of the Anchor DeFi Lending Protocol Failure
Shirley Ren ’24 – The Distributional Effects of Monetary Policy Shocks in China
Nicole I. Svensson ’24 – Examining the Effect of Hurricanes on the Florida Housing Market in Varying Flood Vulnerability Zones
