Economics concentrators can choose from a variety of courses to develop a deep understanding of both the theoretical underpinnings of economics and its applications to a diverse set of issues ranging from monetary and trade policy to healthcare and environmental policy.
Core courses and department electives
Concentrators are required to take three core courses. They must also complete five departmental electives.
Economics concentrators may count a maximum of two courses from other departments as cognates to replace two of the required departmental elective courses. Some cognates are pre-approved.
Popular course sequences
To aid course selection, the department recommends four popular course sequences.
Preparation for graduate studies
