Ernest Liu Awarded 2023 Kiel Institute Excellence Award

Ernest LiuThe Economics Department at Princeton University congratulates Ernest Liu, who has been awarded a 2023 Excellence Award from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Liu is an Assistant Professor of Economics in Princeton’s Economics Department who works in finance, networks, trade, growth, and macro-development.

In addition to his appointment in the Economics Department, Liu is also a faculty affiliate of the Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy & Finance, the Bendheim Center for Finance, and Princeton’s International Economics Section.

The Excellence Awards, established in 2007, aim to identify the “brightest young researchers in the area of global economic affairs.” Liu was recognized for his research in networks, trade, and industrial policy.

As part of the award, Liu will receive the Kiel Institute Fellowship.

Liu has been a member of Princeton’s faculty since 2019. He is an associate editor of the Review of Economic Dynamics and a research fellow with the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).
