The Program for Research on Inequality (PRI) hosted its annual fall reception on October 9 to welcome new affiliated faculty, recognize grant recipients, and celebrate the start of a new academic year.
Ellora Derenoncourt, Assistant Professor of Economics at Princeton University and founding director of PRI, formally congratulated this year’s grantees (Kaan Cankat, Federica Carannante, Agustín Barboza Da Rosa, Pablo Zarate, Renjie Bao, and Ranie Lin) during the reception.
“The aim of PRI is to foster community among economists studying inequality here at Princeton. The reason to have this group is there are people working on issues relating to inequality from different angles and across many fields,” said Derenoncourt at the event. “Its rare that we have an opportunity to gather macroeconomists, finance, development, labor, and industrial organization all together, but there are people who have made amazing contributions to the study of this topic in all of those fields here.”
Each year, PRI selects Princeton Ph.D. applicants whose research focuses on inequality–specifically racial equity in the economy and inequality in labor markets–as grant recipients. From pharmacy deserts to unionization, learn more about the 2025 recipients and their research.
