Renormalization Theories for Incompressible Flows with Gaussian Statistics in Monte Carlo Simulations in Oceanography

We review recent results on the large time/large scale properties of passive tracer transport by time dependent incompressible velocity fields with Guassian statistics. We consider velociy fields with an infrared spectral signularity and we concnetrate on the homogenization and renormalization procedures, one of our goals being to identify regimes of anamalous diffusion. We also discuss some mathematical conjectures motivated by the results of numerical simulations.
